Reader riposte: Malcolm Fraser on China

by Reader riposte - 7 February 2013 10:51AM

Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser writes:

Since the Lowy Institute is apparently giving considerable publicity to Captain Fanell's remarks about China, I thought you might be interested in these two articles of Nicholas Kristof's in the New York Times. They give a different, and I believe, a dispassionate and probably accurate account of the situation. Captain Fanell's account was wrong, it was abusive and inflammatory. I hope the Lowy Institute will do what it can to establish some degree of balance in a subject which is enormously important and serious.
