Alexandra Wake is a senior lecturer in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University in Melbourne. Dr Wake became a journalism academic after a long career specialising in international broadcasting. Her research and teaching is focused on new technologies for journalism, particularly in cultures outside advanced liberal democracies. She is currently working on a book about changes to the media in the Asia-Pacific.
